The perfect fit is perhaps most elusive when it comes to shopping for a pair of jeans, with women who believe jeans are the second-most difficult item to fit behind bathing suits. Today that task is made more difficult with the number of denim brands in the market. But this fall, the pioneer of the jean genre is launching a consumer tool that seeks to revolutionize buying your wardrobe basic. The Levi’s brand is bringing a new electronic body measurement system, the Levi’s Fit Experience, to Americans to help them easily find a great fit in a pair of jeans in approximately 10 seconds.
When a fully clothed person steps into the cylindrical glass booth, the Levi’s Fit Experience, powered by Intellifit, will scan the person in approximately 10 seconds and print out recommended sizes and styles of Levi’s Jeans cross referenced with his or her measurements.
On the heels of a successful seven-market “test” in spring 2005, the “Fit Experience” mall tour will continue throughout the fall shopping season. Celebrity stylists, Stacy London and Clinton Kelly, from TLC’s “What Not To Wear” stopped by the tour to offer their sage advice to consumers looking for the perfect fit and style for their body type. The scanners also will be installed in most Levi’s stores by the end of the year. Levi’s is the first denim brand to both test the new scanner and to permanently install the Fit Experience in-store. |
